Get Involved!
Staff or NTT Faculty at SAIC:
The first and most important way staff and non-tenure-track faculty can get involved is to sign a card! By doing this, you can participate in our union to the fullest, helping shape it and voting on future contracts, our constitution, officer elections, and more.
Staff and non-tenure-track faculty can sign a card by clicking here!
Join a committee! Anyone interested in contributing to the ongoing work of our union is encouraged to join the Communications Committee, Member Action Team, Organizing Committee, and/or Welcoming Committee. If you would like more information about either committee, reach out to info@aicwu.org!
Communications Committee: Emails, flyers, social posts, aicwu.org . . . the communications committee does it all. Calling all wordsmiths, designers, and social butterflies!
Member Action Team (MAT): Facilitate the flow of information from your colleagues to the executive board and from our leaders on the board to the membership.
Organizing Committee (OC): Speaking of the executive board, we need to elect one! Join the OC to help plan and facilitate general AICWU business, including our very first elections!
Welcoming Committee: Make sure that new colleagues get a warm AICWU welcome, get signed up on a card, and learn about their rights and privileges as a part of the bargaining unit.

Community:
There are many ways for members of our community—Chicago area residents, artists, cultural workers, students, museum members, former staff/interns/fellows, alumni, and friends—to advocate for the Art Institute of Chicago Workers United. We invite you to publicly show your support for our union in the following ways:

Contribute to our Strike & Hardship Fund! This fund is not a commitment to go on strike, and we sincerely hope that our contract negotiations will not come to this. However, we want to make sure our coworkers are supported. Click here.
